How not to lose customers !!
Every SaaS company puts a lot of energy to acquire a customer. Believe it or not — retaining a customer is tougher than customer acquisition.
Let’s start from my own experience, Last year I started using some online service, let’s name it X. I loved the product and quickly I converted to paid plan (250$/month). I planned to stick with the product for next few years.
Suddenly X increased the product price by 6 times from its existing price. Obviously, the product was valuable to me but it couldn’t meet my cost calculations.
Customer Lock-In doesn’t mean customer loyalty.
I started searching for the same product in my budget and found a new one Y, with better results. I tried it and signed up for paid plan (120$/month).
One fine day, I needed services beyond monthly limits. I asked for a quotation and the product team replied with 750$ for same limits. Unexpectedly that’s again a hike in price by 6x times for the same services.
You might have guessed, what happened next? I moved on.
Now I am using similar service from Z and it cost me 100$ for same limits and even better accuracy.
Don’t take the customer for granted, they will jump the ship happily if you don’t behave humanly.
“Being Human” is the best way to win customer hearts !
So do not hesitate in extending favours to your customer, when they really need it. Customer will repay you by freely promoting your products.
